new cam mod

I have a 2015 Camaro SS with the 1LE. has the LS3 motor and i want to put in the night fury cam 113 by lethal racing. but i was wondering if there are some better cams that would add more horses. Thanks.

Welcome! Night fury and the LG Moyorsports cams make great power. You will get better responses in the V8 technical forum though.

remember when it was "new cam"? Now it's "new cam mod".

Not picking on the OP. It's just weird how we as a species have a need to complicate things.

you are referring to the Lobe Separation Angle when you say 113, the lift on that cam is somewhere in lower 600's like 615/ 615 I believe and the duration fairly good and yes there is a custom grind ton o cams..... or off the shelf just look for a tight LSA, higher lift and long duration. I used to run the 235/239 TSP cam, its .639/.623 with 235/239 duration and I went with 112 lsa it made great power, however they down graded the intake lobe by .010 now too .629 as maybe they did not need it......? or maybe like a another members post I just commented on....the PRC .675 springs it required are a lot more prone to breakage...than say the .650 spring they sell 20 times more of according to the guy there I spoke too.......

SO if you want to go super aggressive or not its up to you, having just paid major cash to buy a new engine...I am going safer..... A cam motion stage three 8620 core custom ground to add a little and .650 springs with titanium retainers. Sure the springs are chromium silicone like the PRC were supposed to be, but I am hoping they come from another maker..... And I did have a over rev months before the spring broke.... both on#2 in about ten miles from slight tick to TINK.. I am going with a much more street friendly wider LSA of 114+4 for 118 that should make getting stuck in a freeway traffic jam less of a work out on the clutch leg and revving to 1500 rpm over and over then move a few feet.
I also know from tearing my engine down it was running fairly rich especially with the city driving and the carbon fouling, and am knowing the idle should go down from 950 rpm and the gas mileage improve along with a wider torque curve and more brake vacuum.....its some of the gains from a wider LSA and the losses are top end h.p. numbers, and etc... there are articles especially one by comp cam the effects of LSA.

Here will find: G6sx or what ever is the tightest in PTV clearance which is scary close ...... it is LG, theres tick polluter cam, and btr cams...... you really should do a lot of research into what you want in cam .......... as there are a lot of cams and the "nightfury" is like a stupid closely held secret of its lift #s as its not the most aggressive but has been popular on here.

JRE470 is a great cam. Talk to Ted at Janetty's Racing.
