I was just thinking how hilarious it would be if this was really the 6thgen Camaro motor and GM is just toying with us. With the reveal of the Mustang, it looks like GM is just trying to win the pissing match by showing us just how much stuff is in the works without giving specifics.

You can Google it but I remember hearing things about them having photographers come in to take a pic of a certain "thing" and having set up corridors/dividers and steering the guy into a certain room and having security guards as escorts. Now a days they make you check all your electronics at the counter etc...

They go through great measures, when you see something it's because they want you to. If something does slip out that they didn't want to they find out who is responsible and fire people.

GM is one of the reasons the whole concept of "Corporate Espionage" exists. When you think about the money spent the stakes are high. Think about the 5th Gen Camaro supposedly cost a Billion dollars to develop. I never did hear about the ne Corvette.

This isn't just GM most large Manufacturers are like this it seems to be talked about more in the auto industry. It's probably because we love are cars so much.

At the Detroit Auto Show, I want to know why Chevy decided that the Corvette Z06 go forced induction. Is it because of CAFE? Is it because they couldn't make enough power with a naturally aspirated motor?

It could be for another car but I would be surprised if they had an engine this far along in the development process for a car that probably won't be revealed for at least another year or two.

With all the talk about the Z/28 name being hallowed and them using the LS7 a supercharged Z06 just doesn't make sense. If the Z06 does use a supercharged LT4 there will be an enthusiasts outcry and then we will hear from GM the justification behind it. I'm sure the LT4 is a great engine it's just not what people will want.

I like the idea of a 7.0 with DI. A little more compression and a nastier cam 550+ is a breeze with a warranty. The aftermarket will make 650+ easy...

This. DI, VVT, CNC heads, improved cam, higher compression and an improved intake should be worth a good bump.

I think we're all in for a nice surprise in the next few weeks

I guess that means the Z06 is going forced induction which, in my opinion, is a huge mistake.
1+1 does not equal 3

That is an LT4, and it looks like its for a Corvette. You are assuming its for the Z06.

You guys wanna see something really crazy? This will really stir the pot. This pdf is a patent application placed by GM for a centri style blower. The kicker, however, it that it is mounted INSIDE the intake manifold. Very strange indeed. Now we're getting to the level of G14 classified and Area 51 tech
