Neither were true. In this one video I just found again, he says at 2:40 they are improving fuel economy in the GT.

The GT actually has worse city MPG then the previous '14 model by 2 mpg and overall by 1 mpg. That's definitely a big hit by 2 mpg in the city. Not sure if it's due to the gearing or just the weight gain. (added a space in the www so it doesn't load video into forum)

I'll try to find the other video but they did say lighter. Obviously that was not accurate and people should hold them to what they say.
