RIP Wayne Static
Wayne Static died last night from an apparent OD. Static X is one of my favorite bands but I never got the chance to see them live.

First CD I ever bought was Wisconsin Death Trip, never really liked or listened to much of their stuff after that, just a few songs here and there.
Unfortunate to say the least.

The music business is the most corrupt and crazy business that's equal to boxing.

Thankfully they are saying NO OD, I know he had been clean for about 5 years.
Static X was awesome, Wayne had a very distinct voice. I first saw them in 1999 (Wow I'm old), I still have the ticket from that show that Wayne signed for me. I saw them a couple other times since then and a couple years ago when they briefly got back together. I had tickets to the Wayne Static and PM5K show here in a few weeks, very sad those won't be used. |

I met him in person at one of his early concerts (in Wisconsin too!). He was a really cool guy, and much more chill than you would expect. I can't say I loved their music after the first couple albums, but it was a unique sound that you couldn't mistake for a different band. I was expecting relapse OD, but it seems like maybe that's not it after all.

not a fan but I remember how I felt when Layne Staley passed, honestly have never gotten over it completely, will always be a fan of the classic AIC. I imagine the pain is similar. sorry for all the fans, kind of leaves a hole in your soul :(
