440 cu in LSX makes 1,029 HP N/A
Now this is an engine. 440 cubic inch LSX based engine makes 1,029 horsepower naturally aspirated. I can't imagine what something like this costs to build but it is awesome.

Well, if they can get something like 850-900 hp out of a 358 cubic inch engine in Nascar there isn't really any reason why someone couldn't get 1029 out of a 440. I mean, 850 x 440/358 = 1045. As I think about it, it might even be a touch easier. I'm sure there are a lot of things in the Nascar rulebook that holds back what them good 'ol boys can do. On the other hand, I'm not sure what the LSX prohibits in their rulebook for the shootout.
In any case, its crazy impressive to see 1000+ naturally aspirated.
