GM will restart Camaro production May 3

According to Automotive News, GM will restart production of Camaro and Cadillac CT4/CT5 sedans at Lansing Grand River Assembly next week. Production at the plant has been canceled since March 15 as a result of the global microchip shortage.

Don't get too anxious. The Lansing plant also builds the Cadillac CT4 and CT5, and who knows which of the three vehicles will get priority? Also, restarting an assembly line isn't just flip a switch and hit full production immediately. It could be a few weeks before the lines get to maximum output, if GM has even decided that's what it wants to do.

Cool, I'm debating selling my 1SS online, one place offered me $39K for it, that's more than what I paid for it 4 years ago. I could take that money and either put it toward a 1LE or wait a bit longer and get a ZL1.

now if only used car prices will stay this high when my Zl1 arrives. I was optimistically thinking memorial day, but then my SO said ya it's probably more like Independence day...ugh

Related article for anyone interested - not a lot of specifics, but does sound like a slow start-up process over the next month.

he's spot on about the semi conductors and GM! Like how he points out how car companies spend all this money on fancy advertising and commercials.

Ford's CEO was on Mad Money last night describing how the chip shortage has hurt their business so I assume GM is the same.
