Estimate was just emailed to me and final estimate total is 6,733.62. The pictures were also sent but you can't see the small dents or some of the other damage very well on the pictures that were sent to me. He did find dents in the hood. Tomorrow I will try to get better ones sorry for delay in pics.

EDIT: There was 19 total places of damage on the car with windshield chips paint damage and some dents.

Take a look at Thinkware.. I installed a Thinkware u1000 2 channel into my ZL1. It's 4k 30 fps front (or 2k 60fps which is what mode I run in) and 2k 30fps rear, plus, you can add a radar option and a battery pack, which I did, lets it run in low power mode and can provide dash cam coverage while parked for over a week without affecting main car battery https://www.blackboxmycar.com/produc...cloud-dash-cam

Quick video (dusk so kind of bad time for a video, lol, and my front windshield is 70% tint and rear is 15%):

I want to get a GOOD dash cam.

Here is the thing. The 6th gen only has one AC outlet. One option is buying a splitter which gives you two. So I run a radar detector, dash cam, but how to I also run my GPS? My Mustang had two outlets, and a splitter made it 3.

Escort used to make a nice battery operated detector but they no longer make that. So I need 3 outlets total.

Yeah, the thinkware is very high quality stuff. Super happy with it.. Crystal clear, cloud, solid app, GPS, etc. Def please with it for the money spent. I have it all hard wired in, no wires hanging down anywhere.. I have the battery pack at the back of my glove box and the dash cam runs off the battery pack (the cable runs from glove box up the pillar and under the headliner to the dash cam).

I'm waiting on blend mount before I install my radar detector which also will be hardwired (using the connector from gen 5diy).

Got the car back and took a couple of pictures one of the drivers side mirror (blurry) the two black marks are debris damage and you can tell on the fender/door the white marks those are chipped paints not dust, dirt etc. The first picture is a section of my front bumper all paint chips. The dents in the hood I could not get to appear on camera well but they are noticeable. Total repair time will be 1-2 weeks. The camera I used is not the greatest but those are all chips car basically looks like a white spotted dalmatian.

that sucks.the only good thing is you can get urethane basecoat/clearcoat instead of the crappy water based paint the government made GM use the first time.

The body shop did mention they would be using a thicker clearcoat compared to factory so it might be Urethane.

Thanks I will makes me wonder how many chips would have been on there if it had urethane from the factory. Might have been fewer chips and just the dents and chips in windshield if it had urethane.
I will definitely check with them on Monday.

My front bumper is messed up like its a Grey and white Dalmatian actually its easier to say what wasn't damaged. My passenger rear fender, spoiler, trunk lid and rocker panels avoided damage. Two of my rims behind the spokes had pavement land in them but so far the wheels seemed to avoid damage.

Body shop I took it too the estimator took 10 min or longer to take all the pictures. If there are dents they are small and fixable. 80% of my car is going to be repainted and since the dashcam footage showed it as projectile damage my insurance is now showing it as comprehensive now. My Insurance mentioned to me that they are considering taking action against the state of Kansas due to negligence in the road construction for the second time in a week or two. First being the 119th Bridge construction and debris falling on I-35 traffic below.

I will have pictures tomorrow and all the footage I have from my dashcam I will provide a link tonight or tomorrow as well.

EDIT: I was in the far right lane the truck that hit it was changing from far left to middle lane but I will try to get the footage up as soon as I can.

Where do you live? It’s good your getting taken care of by your insurance but that’s gonna be a big ding on your CarFax. It will affect your resell value

I ask what state because you may want to look into diminished value. I would look up and if you livecin a state where it is law or have previous case laws i would talk to a lawyer and see what your options are.

I live in Kansas in the Kansas City Metro area. I have had my insurance for 10 years they take care of me well but in this situation its different. They are still taking good care of me and my Camaro but thee damage is caused by a State road construction crew being negligent and because of this my Insurance might take action against the State for reimbursement. Just a waiting game for now but I did mention diminish value to them but it depends on how long things take with that and so forth. So I guess if they do go after the state I can bring it up again but the Insurance claims adjuster was as upset as I was about what he saw from my dashcam. I might be able too but if they do go after the state for reimbursement it could take a while.

A few years ago when I drove through a hail storm in a truck I used to have that repair was not on its carfax. So I don't really know why it wasn't or maybe it wasn't cause it was comprehensive coverage due to hail damage. Carfax is weird on what is reported and what isn't I have learned but thanks for looking out

UPDATE: Everything was approved between body shop and insurance whatever parts are getting replaced like my Front bumper fascia, grill and windshield will be OEM. The new paint will be Urethane and I was told the clearcoat will be thicker than factory. Factory for our cars from what I was told is 0.5 the new paint will be 0.8 thickness. My Camaro is going to come out better than before.

As for diminish value if it does end up with a loss of value then I will get a check.

you will be surpised what a difference that urethane paint will make as far as resisting rock chips.
