The same people that made it one of the most popular Camaros of all time. And they are the last true muscle car GM will make. A few mods and youre done....good performance with that true muscle car persona. Now you know.

You think that gen 5 with the boxy look, plastic interior and front end, and heavier and slower is better than the Gen 6 v8??

I quite enjoy my 2.0T. I bought it for autox and daily driving, and it's great at both. I've seen well into the 30s in fuel economy on back roads, and right around 30 mpg at 75 with cruise control on. Premium is annoying at times, but as long as you have a station near you that doesn't gouge premium prices, it's not that big of a deal. I'm assuming you're used to that though. I've got a downpipe and tune, and it's quick enough. 0-60 in 5.0 seconds, and the 1/8 mile at 8.7 and 82 mph. I struggle to think of a better performance bargain in a modern car.

Obviously, test drive both the 2.0T and V6. They drive quite different, and I can't tell you which you'd prefer. I came from a Focus ST, so I liked the surge that the turbo gives and tunability. It does sound like garbage though, but I don't like loud cars anyway, at least not in a daily driver. The only annoying thing is the connotations around owning a non-V8 Camaro. The track/autox guys think I made the best decision ever, but talk to any other car person and they think I wasted my time/money.

Personally I'd love to add a 2.0T 1LE. Thinking that'd be a fun little ride.

well,if you think the 6th gens more mainstream(bland) styling and A8 shudder are superior i guess thats your opinion.people from my (older)generation prefer the 5th gens more muscular styling.the 6th gen would have never sold any cars at all if they hadnt improved the performance numbers because the 5th gen styling is as good as it gets.

meh.i wouldnt worry about what someone else thinks of a "non V-8 camaro"as most of them are not V-8s anyway.ill bet the newer 2.0T is a blast to drive...

My wife and I have had two 2.0 Turbo 6th gens and we had no issues with either. It had plenty of power, imo. Great daily driver. Pretty fun to drive with the manual too.

I think the 6th Gen looks significantly better and has a better interior and performance, but I can respect the 5th Gen for going full retro to look like the 1st gens.

Out of the 3 initial retro muscle cars, I think Challenger, Camaro5, Mustang5 look good in that order.

I'm not concerned, as I bought it anyway, but it's extremely annoying posting about the car you just bought on a Camaro page and half the comments are saying you bought the wrong car. To be fair, most large Facebook pages are pure cancer.

I considered all engines before I got my car - honestly I never drove the 2.0T but by all accounts: it's a good engine with plenty of tuning potential.

The 2.0T are pretty sick, I love how well the turbos take to modding. If I hadn't dreamed of owning a V8 camaro for years, I would've bought one.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate all of the comments. I’m in my mid 40s and worrying about what others think about my choice of engine is laughable to me. A few brought up the premium gas, which I didn’t consider, but obviously should have being a turbo. Not that it matters much really, but good point.
My fear was hearing “stay away, lots of issues”, from you guys who know the 6th gen well, but it sounds like the i4 is a good, fun car I can DD and take on trips.
