I know someone that had a Mamo throttle body that behaved like this and he sent a new one immediately.

Any ported TB is subject to this. Either reset and try again or replace with one that works. I drove about 40 miles with mine before going into limp mode. Reset codes, kept the same one and never had another issue.

Tony has top notch customer service! My mamo TB has given me no problems at all. Have one on ZL1 and one on my 6.2 truck.

Installed my Tony Mamo V2 TB (OEM spec 87mm TB, NOT the 103mm) about a week ago. Initially no issues except on cold start a high idle that settled down almost immediately, otherwise ran just fine. Tony told me to drive it easy for a while, which I did (about 8 drives). I opened it up a bit today and after 30 minutes the car went not only into limp mode, but TOTAL power loss with CEL. Shut car down and restarted. Ran ok but CEL still on. Brought it home, put OEM TB on, disconnected negative battery terminal and car again runs perfect. I've reached out to Tony to see what I need to do. From what I've read the ported TB should make the car run better, but the OEM runs better in my case. The only thing I have is a CAI and MBRP axle back exhaust, otherwise bone stock. Could it be the combo of the CAI and the TB allowing too much air for the stock tune?

Quick update. I went back and reread a bunch of posts about this, including some great info from Tony. I put the V2 TB back on with the stock intake, disconnected the battery to see if maybe the CAI/TB combo was causing the issue. So far it runs great with the stock intake. I'm gonna drive it easy for 50-100 miles and then slowly ramp the rpm up. We'll see how it goes. Tony has been great responding to my questions!

One more update. Tony called me direct, which I wasn't expecting. This is the type of service that makes people customers for life.

Another update. Just took the car out again. Already put on 60 miles since putting back on the V2 Ported TB and the stock intake. Starting to open her up again. Ok, now this is what I was expecting based on what I've read. Without a doubt a difference in throttle response. ZERO lag, perfect, crisp throttle at all rpm so far. It seems, after some back and forth with Tony, that my issue was due to the CAI. The MAF location on the stock intake is perfect for properly metering the air and commanding the correct amount of fuel (that's from Tony). The CAI had it in a different location where I had to stretch the cable just to get it in. Here's the bottom line, again my experience. When I put the TB on with the CAI and didn't disconnect the battery it ran fine, until I started opening it up, at which point it eventually drove the car into limp mode (total power loss). While up to that point the throttle response was good, it wasn't as much of a change as I had expected. Now is different. I'm a believer and the ported TB provides a better more enjoyable/responsive car at all rpm. So far my second experience has been exceptional, nothing but perfect/crisp throttle response through the rev range. If it changes I'll let you know. Side note.......Tony Mamo is dedicated to his customers. I've never had the owner of a company call me to find out what's going on. Like I said before, this breeds customers for life.

Tony is a stand up guy. I have one of his TB on my C7 Grand Sport and had one on my old 1LE. Dont have one on my ZL only because I like the way the car is already. Once I decide if I'm going to add more power for sure he will be the the guy I reach out to.

Back to stock throttle body. Keeping the Tony Mamo when I decide to tune the car.
