Garage Entry/Exit Mirrors?

We have a two car garage setup as two single doors. Since I'm DD her I'll be pulling in and out often. Do y'all use any kind of cheater mirror setup to see where the front splitter corners are when pulling in? I was thinking of setting up cheap vertical mirrors on each side to see.

You mean like this? It’s a 12x12 inch mirror. I got a pack of 6 from Lowe’s for like $10. I have it mounted to a cheap TV mount I found on Amazon. I mounted it and positioned the mirror to where I can see the orange line at the start of the garage. I can see where my driver side front wheel is and follow the orange line to the stop. The car is parked in the same exact spot every time!

YES!!! Thank you. That's perfect. I'll get to work on a similar setup.

you can also string a tennis ball from the ceiling to hit the center of the windshield.

Since I like all the free space at the front of my car I pull in past where I need to be then I use the reverse cam lines and line up with the marks on floor the garage door leaves.

Nothing wrong with lines and mirrors, but if you just practiced for the length of time it takes to buy that stuff, you'd have it down. I used to own an 89 Iroc, and visibility was great. The 16 is SO much harder to see out of. The first day I backed it in I bet I went in and out 5 or 6 times and had to get out a couple times! By the end of the week I'm rollin' in hot, with barely a second look. It's like anything else. Good luck!

If I drove the car daily I could understand what you mean. With my other car, which is my daily driver, I can easily do that. I can pull into the garage without any guides, lines, stops, etc. and be on the money every time. The Camaro is not my daily so I don’t get as much practice. Although I can say that I find myself using the mirror less than I did in the beginning. The line is there more so to make sure I have enough room between it and my other car. Just a reference.

Great points and all appreciated. I work shift work and 16 hour turnaround days/nights so if I can eliminate any points of possible error when pulling in during dusk/dawn, that would be great.

I think I would be too OCD to have tennis balls dangling from my ceiling or tape and mirrors all over the place. I would look into a laser guidance system. I found several online for about $15. They are motion activated and don’t look obtrusive.

I back my car, truck and suv in every time. Never pull straight in and with the new back up cameras its actually easier then pulling in. Then in the morning when you leave your right straight back out the door. Just say see ya.

Wow. Never even considered that. I'm going to try that first.

This is what I do. Roll in a little deep, put it in reverse and then back up to a mark in the floor using the reverse camera. I manage to have to rear bumper just inches off the garage door.
