Gotta keep up with the Jonses
I don't want to be left behind and feel I need to remove my LT1 and replace it with the new Corvette LT2 engine. I refuse to be second best.

And I need a Porsche GT3 RS to which I will finance on a 10 year note, oh and I need a boat, and then of course a 3/4 ton truck to tow it with.
Then I need a big house with at least 5 rooms, but then I will need a cleaning service to come in 2 times a week because I'll be damned if I am going to do it myself. Next I will start working out, which requires a gym, personal trainer and chef of course to round it out. These are just the basics of course. Gotta keep up with the Jones.... Or maybe I am thinking of the Zuckerberg's HMMMMMM........

After reading about the LT2 online line stuff. 495 hp and 470 torque
Basically easy to do on a LT1, improve your exhaust flow with headers and free flowing exhaust. Pop on a better intake manifold with TB, and change your cam so your exhaust lobes are higher. Your engine will breath better and produce more HP and some torque. Chose a better cam then what GM offers and then you have a better engine then the LT2.

NAH, I would rather have N/A at 9K than turbo.
If you put both in front of me and said pick, I would go GT3 RS

If GM keeps with history the Camaro will get the LT2 in a year or two.

judging by the c8 trap speeds, the lt2 isn’t much more powerful. i’m curious about the heads and intake manifold. although i’m fairly certain already that the manifold ain’t gonna fit.

It'll cost you, a lot. The LT2 was built specifically for the C8 Vette, where space is available in terms of height. It's much taller than the LT1. Won't be a simple drop.

Also is it the same displacement? If so then a simple heads and cam swap and Mr.Jones will be eating LT1 dust. I do have to admit though the C8 is quite revolutionary and down right intimidating on paper. Its kind of in its own league. |

I thought it is still very low in the chassis of the C8 with the top of the engine still below the top of the frame. Pretty sure that was talked about at length contributing to the low center of gravity.

If it's about all the many other things that make a C8 the superior sports car, an LT2 won't do you much good. |

If memory serves me right I thought I read that the LT2 was designed to be a more compact engine to allow it to sit as low in the chassis as possible thus why GM made it a dry sump engine.
