Yea looking at the LT5 is does have PI, I stand corrected. Porting will have a much more pronounced result on the PI LT5 due to the increased boundary layer within the blower, but this boundary layer also effectively limits volume which is why we see little gains porting our stock LT4 with DI blowers. Also why the AFR didn't fly off the handle with the LT5 I'm assuming.

I hope so.
I like Matt but he does put some information out there that isn't correct. He states in his video that you can't order a SS/LT1 with a manual trans right now and that simply isn't the case. There is no constraint on the 6 speed manual at this time. It's not listed on my weekly DOSP constraint list or the national constraints report. |

His videos are mostly clickbait. I wouldn’t bet on this ever happening for numerous reasons.

That's what I was thinking. And Alec's ZL1 put down something like 1000-WHP on Kong's port if I recall recently. That combination seems to be on the ragged edge, but the OP's suggestion there are little gains to be had from the 1740 don't seem to be founded in much research, IMO. RPM has gotten past 900, too, for that matter. There are going to be more, too, as these are released into the wild.

There's a good bit of power to be made in porting the stock LT4 blower. The only real downside to the stock blower as we all know is the intercooler bricks. The heat is manageable though with improved heat exchangers if you're only making a pass and letting the car cool down which most people will anyway. Making back to back runs is where it will start to show its weakness. Of course those that are looking for 900whp+ are probably better off going with a 2650R.

I've seen with my own eyes a ported stock blower LT4 do nothing on a otherwise stock Camaro, I mean nothing. First mod the guy did, no change from baseline. I dunno if it was Kong, but he definitely wasted his money.

Can't speak for anyone else but Kong and Jokerz have both shown very good power increases porting the stock LT4 blower. Maybe that guy should have used one of the well known porting shops where the results are proven over and over again.
