Rear view camera

So I have a 2020 camaro ss and my rear view camera doesn’t turn on and damn bumper to bumper warranty ended so do anybody know how much the dealership will charge me to fix my rear view mirror camera (not back up camera)

You have more than 36K miles on a ~2 year old car?

As for cost, will depend on what exactly is wrong with it and what needs to be replaced.

How can you own a 2020 and the bumper to bumper warranty is already expired? You must have what over 36k miles on it already?

My 2020 has less than 4k on it and it has taken two fixes for the rear view camera. The first time they replaced the camera and mirror display and the second time the wiring harness. Both times they removed the headliner. The first time I got these white blotches and the second time it completely failed and the blue screen came up. I would say if you're having an issue, it would be one of those 3 components.

I'd bet the FAKRA cable is loose on either end.

You can check behind the rearview mirror by popping off the cable cover and making sure the blue connector is secure, the other end is trickier to get to. You need to gain access to the rear of the headliner and maneuver yourself to be able to reach the sharkfin antenna. There you can see if the cable is properly connected.

The dealer will most likely charge a minimum of $300, all the dealers near me want $200-300 for the diagnostic fee. The rear-view mirror and sharkfin camera are at least $200+ a piece if they want to replace it which they'll most likely do since every issue always gets fixed with throwing new parts at it.
