FWIW, I'd consider buying these longer set screws as well. Leaves more of the actual screw shaft in the metal of the jack pads when you tighten them down fully. That and some blue loctite and you're all set.

I did the exact same for quick jack usage!

The real answer is they need to sell these in packs of 6, and use them on all points!

I've seen drawings showing the jack points, is that in a service manual?

I don't know where the graphic came from though.
My FSM doesn't show it, oddly.

The drawing I posted in that other thread is from the 2018 service manual, chapter 1, page 34, depicting a ZL1. I used this one because it looked better than the "base" drawing, heh. Jack points are the same for all models, I've just double-checked.

I think the reason the frontmost location is preferred is that there are cross-braces on the convertible that occupy the secondary position both in the front and the rear, and either the writer wanted to be consistent or it's a bit better to lift the car from these positions because of the weight distribution (although the difference is minimal).

I wasn't sure when I installed my lift pads a couple of weeks ago. I used the closest spot to the front tire on my Vert. Looks like I picked correctly!

The QuickJack lift I borrowed from a friend is why I started this tread I bought the ZL1 Addons pads and installed them in the most common location (it seems) and the pads are too far apart to work with it. It had me second guessing my front pad install location. I think the second cutout is really for the convertible cross brace and they just use the same rocker for all models..I agree they need to sell a 6 pad set to allow you to cover all bases.

Thanks for the info.

Good information everyone. Your post have really helped get to the bottom of the two mounting locations and which ones most people use..

Aha, thanks, I found it.
I guess I wasn't searching for the right tag.
It was on page 84 of mine (.pdf) due to the index in the front.
