Check the fluid level. If it’s too full, when the diff heats up the pressure will push some fluid out the seal (“seep”).

How can the diff be "too full?" I thought the service instructions were to re-fill fluid until it starts to spill out of the fill hole.

Maybe the lift was broken that day at the plant that caused a lean?

Update: the dealer says the right rear axle seal needs replaced.
