Procharger install cost and quality

Is $7999.00 a decent price for a procharger with D1 head, race intercooler, and helical gears installed and tuned? Thanks in advance, I know this topic has been covered, but not to this detail.

Also, I've heard good and bad about procharger, some speed shops dropped them due to quality issues. Any insight into that? Would be nice if one of our forum speed shops chimed in!

Seems high, I think you can get the heartbeat with install close to that, of course that depends on the labor rate of your shot.

Why are they suggesting the D1? The P1 is capable of over 700rwhp and will be on boost a bit sooner than a D1 using the same pulley size.

If they arent making any fuel system mods to go with it I cant see why they would want to use a D1 over the P1?

What sort of HP figure are they saying they can give you for that cost?

They say they're aiming for 600RWHP

That is a decent price but the D-1 is overkill for this engine and fuel system so go with a P-1 you will be happier with the better response down low where you need it.

Like all car parts pricing reflects quality of the components supplied.

Better kits will cost more.

P1 is more than enough for 600rwhp.
But thats not a bad price for a fully installed and tuned package, i would just get a P1 over a D1 for sub 700rwhp.

Thanks for the input! I'm thinking I want centrifugal because it will be easier to launch with a manual than some of these PD low rpm torque monsters. But procharger seems to be the only option. :( Thoughts?

Actually I find PD blowers easier to launch as you can do a lot more with lower RPM.

Well I looked into the Magnuson and the same place wants 9,850.00 for it installed with the canned tune and before/after dyno.

Yes but you get what you pay for, the fit and finish is so Factory like, the performance is Stellar, and the life expectancy is Life of the car.

We just took apart a truck that we installed and has been Whipple supercharged for 198,000 miles and the engine is getting moved to another vehicle, it is in perfect running order.

That truck is getting an ERL 419 with a larger 2.9 Whipple for another 200.000 Miles at 800 HP.

I am a huge supporter of Procharger I'll answer just about anything you want to know regarding the install and supporting stuff at different levels during my build.
