Go to the very first post on the very first page of thr above thread as it clarifies all about various modes et al. Full power is not available unless one runs the car with all off, or in Comp Mode (old tech), or PTM Race (new tech). |

So yes better tires would close the gap some for sure. But that would add even more cost to the M2. And it already sits in a ZL1 price category...a car it couldnt remotely touch no matter what tires one put on it. I have met a few M2s at various tracks over the past 2 years on various rubber and it is no contest. Competition model will up the game for sure. But for a price of a ZL1, which makes little sense to me performance wise. |

I've been away from the forum for awhile, but see people are still whining about the front bumper. I walked through the lots of a closed dealership yesterday with my gf and stopped in front of a '19 and an '18 side by side and asked her which one she liked better. She picked the '19. Then I told her about everyone on this forum crying over the new front bumper and bowtie design and she didn't get it. A ognuno il suo. |

I traded my ‘18 M2 for an ‘18 1LE and a big check from the Chevy dealer. I’ve been really happy with that swap, and I’ve never looked back. The R&T article explains some of the reasons why.
BTW, since I did that deal less than 5 months ago, my former M2 has gone through at least 2 more owners. (I’ve lost track of the car...) |

I think the comp package was supposed to address some of the issues that M owners were having, i.e. the M2 didn't feel like an M car and had lots of nannies. I was not feeling like the stripped down throw back to the older M3s.
My buddies has a 2017 M3 Comp and another friend has a 2017 M2. I like to poke the the M2 guy with his car being heavier, slower (my opinion uglier) then the 4 door family M3. |

But at least your friend’s M2 has the worst, most annoying ride in the history of BMW...

My neighbor has a blue M2. He's a nice guy and keeps it immaculate. He came from an S3 and was even looking at Mustang GT 350s. I asked how the ride quality is the M2 and he said, "It's firm. You kinda get used to it." He didn't say this happily or convincingly. I'm sure I would hate it compared to something like a 1LE/ZL1 with magnetic shocks.

I SOOO love my SS 1LE. It is everything I was hoping my 2016 M3 to be, but wasn't.
It gives me the same feeling that my C5 Z06 did back in the day. These are the types of cars I seek out, but are rarely produced. The performance to value is huge and to top it off they hit 1 or 2 weights above their class.
