20 EV models by 2023 or something like that. I'm certain a proper CUV would be one of them...

Maybe the OEMs thought it would be piling on too much risk at once, 4 years ago when these decisions were being made there was still uncertainty as to how popular crossovers would be. So to dump a lot of money into a crossover, then a lot more into a powertrain other than a standard gasoline engine might have been a non-starter.

Or it could simply be an engineering issue. With the big boxes typically being heavier and less aerodynamic, you get less efficiency out of a hybrid and less range from an EV (or you need more batteries which adds extra cost).
It’s the bold part. It’s a chemistry problem wrapped inside of a physics problem with financial reality tossed in. Until battery chemistry is efficient enough to overcome the aerodynamic and mass deficiencies of utilities and deliver commercially acceptable driving range without having to package them with an ungodly amount of expensive batteries.

Probably the closest thing to a feasible electr4Ic CUV is the Kia Soul EV and also the Kia Niro. But there are more PHEV and EV CUVs coming. Jaguar i-Pace, too.

Agreed. I just thought that GM would have that CUV by now...but hopefully a proper CUV hybrid or EV is one of the firsts to come.

Its a great product if you don't have the slightest care for build quality or reliability. But by that measure, the Yugo is a pretty good car too.

Or if you don't care about business ethics or factory worker conditions. Minor stuff, you know.

Oh, well...then that makes everything alright! I'm certain that employee was responsible for each and ever catastrophic failure Musk has experienced with Tesla in the past two years. And of course it would be the "planet-saving" Tesla vs. the oil companies...

I believe him that an employee sabotaged operations. My guess is it only affected installation of a headlight or something.

Yeah, this felt to me to be the equivalent of LeBron crying about his broken hand AFTER they lost in the finals.

Don't even start to talk about GM's "Super Cruise" compared to AutoPilot...they will tell you its so inferior its laughable.

So people don't like a product, not because of the product, but because of the consumers. Makes a whole lot of sense.

Don't tell me you've never laughed at the folks sleeping in tents to get the next iPhone. Its kind of like that.

I laugh and make fun of those people all the time. But at the same time, I don't get satisfaction with bad news from them. I love apple.
