This is an awesome thread and I don't want to see everything lost 5 years from now when your photobucket links change etc. We have too many threads on this forum lost due to photobucket.
I didn't know you were doing that.

HUGE THANKS!!

As we will be pulling the exhaust a few times over the life of this project we TIG welded the exhaust today to get rid of most of the clamps. We started by tack welding the joints with the system in the car and then removed it to finish the welds. If you decide to do this, make sure that you attach the ground on the exhaust. Not the chassis!

Very nice install and will make for easy removal and reinstall when needed.

one reason I really like ARH is the slip over connections.

Every drag car needs a line lock to ensure consistent burnouts. This is the SJM system installed on the car. I upgraded to Hurst solenoids as I have had good results with them on my other cars.

The line lock took around two hours to do the mechanical work. The wiring still has to be done.

Several people have asked me how much time things are taking. I will work with Jason at Maxxdrive this week to break things down and will post the results.

We have wheels and tires!!

The rears are now 17" x 10" with Hoosier 28" bias-ply slicks. Note that we used open lug nuts to keep the tech man happy.

The fronts are 18" x 6" with 26" Mickey Thompson SR tires.

The new fronts weigh 37.8 lbs each vs 60.6 lbs stock.

The new rears weigh 49.6 lbs each vs 66.2 lbs stock.

That's 78.8 lbs lighter!!

The car on display at the Scoggin Dickey booth for the NMCA Bradenton event over the weekend. We are planning to be at all of the NMCA events this year.

The current race weight is 3650 lbs! No lightweight for sure!!

As most of the World came to a stop this week, I rented Shadyside Dragway on Thursday to catch up on some testing. First up was the stock powertrain with the bushings, axles, and slicks.

Next was with headers, exhaust, air box, and tune.

I think that we have proven that these cars are a lot more fun at the track with slicks out back and the secure feeling of having better axles. The weather was less than stellar (3000' DA), but the cars were deadly consistent. The main difference seams to be heat soak. They dead hooked on every pass. I chose to run a bias-ply for the reason that they are more forgiving. A radial would most likely be faster, but that is not the point at this time. The sixty foot clocks were out. If the weather holds, we will go back tomorrow to get sixty foot data.

And yes, there are two!

We did get to test again yesterday!

The air was about 2000' better and the cars both responded as expected. I really am impressed with how consistent these things are. I only had to make one hit on each to get the time slips that I needed. Converters are next!!
