I like it from my LS1 days, I get scared at high lift street cams, rocker trunion, valve spring and pushrod failures. .577, I'll give up 15 HP for 100,000 mile no issues. Most cams for the LT1 are like .627

Longer duration as well? So better flow and RPM usage. Sorry, thats my basic cam knowledge for now. It's been awhile...

just from looking at the numbers and a simplified overlap calculation of plus 5*, I would say it will be a pretty choppy idle.
but it WILL have stable idle, giving good vacuum, and still delivering good torque for a excellent street/strip setup. the lift can be looked at as power curve amplitude. the more lift, the more you raise the curve, just as it sits, across the entire RPM band moderate lift numbers, you sacrafice a little power for spring life. although power from lift is not linear..if you really know what you're doing(being that they sell the heads with the cam, i would expect they did this)...you can look at flow characteristics, also valve stability. if you hammer the valve to the point that it flutters, you'll lose power and greatly reduce spring and lifter life. beneficial to stay away from that condition to say the least |

Please keep us updated on the process. I've been mulling those options over for a few days now and really would like to know what to expect. Kindest, Donner |

I wonder what percentage of a fuel pump lobe the new hot cam comes with... Could use a 38% increase for a future supercharger

I'm assuming this is the same cam and head combo. So here are all the numbers we could expect from it. |
