600.00 much less than a failed engine LOL

Todays cars computers are far too advanced for anyone to believe that they can learn it by going to a class, purchasing a book, DVD, making a thread, whatever.

No Professional tuner will ever know everything, We as a community often have to lean on each other when we get stuck.

Almost all the threads in HPtuner forums are novice people who are stuck.

I tune 3-5 cars a day and never stop learning.

As a professional tuner I feel sorry for anyone wanting to get in to this business Like jumping in the ocean with no raft.

But if you still want to get in, Calibrated success is the best training course available today.

I agree with Ted, as value proposition, leave it to the pros. By the time you buy all the software, courses, tuning equipment you are in way deeper than $600 and that's still no guarantee you don't damage your car. We all are here to learn, and I don't think you can put a price on knowledge. That's really what you pay for from a true professional in any field.

Agreed Mcmillion,

I would also add, Unless you have a deep understanding of internal combustion engines, Carburetors and ignitions systems, fuel systems, and efi, you should not be attempting tuning.

Yes I said carburetors because fuel injection is an electronic carburetor in a sense.

If you can't tune a carburetor....

These training courses assume you already have these skills and experience.

They will give you the tools and procedures, but the experience is something that must be earned over years and years and years.

The saying goes, you can give a man a hammer, but that doesn't make him a carpenter.

Ted.
