Tuned TCM with Circle D TC

I have a question for those that are tuned. I just got my car back from tuner. It has a3200 stall Circle D and tuned tcm. The drive ability seems off to me but I want to see if it’s just me or this is normal. High throttle it feels like a delay before grip. Tuner says it’s the converter flashing. Low throttle too. I was under assumption that proper tuning would increase line pressure enough to alleviate some of the initial slip. This is my first tuned trans with high stall tc so admittedly I’m new to this. Once you hit 3000rpm she runs like a rocket. Just looking for real world advice/experiences before I make next move.

I actually have this same issue with the trans tune and no converter. low throttle seems to be the worst (normal driving). I have all the slip tables 0'd.

It's going to feel like it revs higher but doesn't accelerate as fast(compared to stock) until you get up around stall speed. That is the nature of a higher stall converter. Line pressure has no effect on the converter slip.

I have a 3c 36-3800 stall and intitially I was almost stock trans tune and the car felt like u described.. im now pray tuned and the converter still revs up but even though its slipping the car still pulls close stock for light throttle.

So now that I have driven it some more I am understanding my driving style needed adjusting. Understanding the flash is important and making sure to apply throttle smooth and consistently is important. Looking in hptuners it is traits of stall tc. Going back for some tweaked to 7 and 8 rpm engagement will fix my main complaint.

Went back to tuner and got tcm dialed in. He had to adjust the TCM throttle setting. We added about 20% to the original tune and it cleaned up the shifts, no more slop, loading of Torque converter, we left WOT alone as it was perfect. So low- mid thorttle input allows gears to hold longer. so much happier. I am probably not describing what we did correctly but there is a work around with HPT.

Basically you just needed a proper tune...normal for a converter swap.
