parts and accessories shortage

I want to know what's gonna happen to the folks that deal in GM genuine parts and accessories that are sold through third parties(like wild hammer motor sports, phastek, and gen5diy) outside the dealer space due to the strike that is going on right now. because most sections of GM is being effected due to the strike.

Camaro production toast in a few years, don't want to get stuck with stuff nobody will buy.

It’s a layoff not a cancer diagnosis. By choice at that. If you’ve never found yourself out of work then you haven’t been working long or otherwise don’t know how good you’ve got it.

Yeah if you need some warranty work that needs parts that are usually not stocked in a typical service parts shelf. Good luck. Took my car last tues with a service airbag indicating by lights and through the DIC. The service advisor has no answer when parts are to arrive.

I heard on the Radio yesterday that Mary Barra wants to to take GM 90% electric. A lot of the workers are upset because it will eliminate so many jobs. It will eliminate me as a buyer.

I think its a dumb idea. The majority of people are not ready to sit around and read a book waiting to charge the batteries. Plus do we now have the infrastructure for all this additional charging. Also aren't our power grids mostly backed by coal to generate power from our electrical grid?? Whats the point?

That’s the plan by 2023 to sell electric vehicles! Just read it in a business article. That seems to be the future folks so not much we can do about it and also they are planning to develop self driving vehicles too!

At this point we should probably be thankful that Camaro production will carryover long enough so that everyone who wants one will have a chance to get one. Enjoy these times because they will be the golden years before we know it. These cars are the last of their kind and the best of their kind. Al O and team must have recognized it and god bless them for resisting the current and throwing the kitchen sink at the ICE and sending us out with a bang. For all it’s flaws they delivered us a world class drivers car for about $60k that dynamically is about as close to perfect as we will ever get from an attainable mass-produced car, one of the best performance values ever built. The next generation of hybrid AWD performance cars will probably be superior performers in every way, but for me they will not be the same so I guess this is where my switch gets flipped to old-timer. I’ll be buying a new ZL1 sometime before they turn the lights out and plan to keep it forever.
