Rocker please help......
So my car had a louder then normal tick/knock under drivers valve cover. Instantly thought collapsed lifter or lifter failure. Pulled valve cover and first rocker on drivers side has slop to it all rest tight. Pulled rockers and push rods all looked good. Pulled head for lifters and all lifters valve springs looked good. What could be the cause of a sloppy rocker?

not trying to be smart, but "looks" and measured are two different things. if the cam lobe is flattened by .1" of and inch, id imagine the stock 7.4" pushrods are gonna be too short.
i have not had a flat cam lobe in a genIII and up chevy motor, but i have had a couple in some genII sbc with hyd roller cams both times i wasnt able to tell by simply removing the valve covers, intake manifold, and lifters. it wasnt till i pulled out the cam and mic'd it that i found out i had a bad lobe Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Oh gotcha. I just seen pics and stuff on forums and usually you can tell visually.

Did the needle bearings go everywhere? I've had quite a few fail on me before I upgraded. Don't stress too much it's an easy fix. I doubt your cam got messed up unless the lifter ate it. Rub your finger on the lobes and see how it feels. Usually it's the offset rockers that mess up. Make sure to get a pen magnet and collect as many bearings as you can. Change the oil.
