Questions regarding small dent
Someone dinged my passenger side door at a plaza and took off some paint. I got quoted $300 to fix it. Another place quoted me $600 to fix it. The $600 place said they have to repaint the whole door and blend it with the other panels. It’s not a big ding but it’s noticeable to to me. This is the first time anything like that has happened. Before I get it fixed is there anything I should know?
How do I upload photos so I can show you guys? Edit: These top photos are of the dent I was talking about. Attempting to upload pictures. Now the bottom one is of a different scratch. The place that quoted me $300, offered to do both for $500. Last edited by samdaman; 09-15-2018 at 04:55 PM. |

Get a PDR (paintless dent repair) estimate also. On more than one occasion I've been good to go after $60 and an hour.

I had a good ding on my door with the paint messed up also they dont have to repaint the whole door my local guy was able to blend and buff it out and cost about 100.00 check into a local person that can remove the ding and they usually know somebody that can fix the paint.

Where is the dent located at on the door? That's what will determine whether or not you have to blend into another panel. Without knowing that I cant say one way or another.

It is located about 6 inches underneath the center of the door. I want to upload a picture but I’m unsure of how. |

This should be easily removed by PDR. It's when it's on the crease that's it's more difficult.

Great news. Everyone needs to have a good PDR guy. They’re not all equal in skills.
