tire and wheel upgrade

thinking about updating the wheels and tires on 2017 Camaro...have 18 inch silver painted aluminum wheels with 245/50R18 tires...would like to go to 20 inch 5 spoke low gloss black painted aluminum 245/40R20 tires....is this something that a Chevrolet dealer can do easily, or am I better off going to a custom tire/wheel shop? Updating tires and wheels does that do anything to the computer or speedometer? Is this something that is doable or not?

As long as you stay with the stock size wheels and tires and dont go with the 1LE or ZL1 tire sizes then the ECM doesnt need to be messed with, the tire calibration is the same across the board for the 18" and 20" wheels.

If you want the OEM wheels then the dealer should be more than able to help you, though it will be at a higher price for sure.

I was able to snag a set of wheels and tires on ebay for my Camaro about 2 years back when i first got the car. The are the original GM LPO 56H Redline gloss black. I paid about $1600 total shipped to my door. They were balanced and i just had to mount and install. At that time the wheels alone without tires were going for $1995 a set from the dealer. So do some searching before going to any stealerships.....

Wheels

I did a Giovanni package from San Diego Tire and Wheel (they beat audiocity by $200). Mine came with 20's so other then fatter rears no change. I sold my stock ones to a fellow Camaro6 user for a great deal. He had the stock silver powder coated black and they looked great. Best of luck, choosing wheels is like picking a prom dress to a chick, lol.

I realize you're wanting black, but I've got these perfect condition 20 x 9 and 20 x 10 VERDI's for sale. Black rivets and caps (have both silver and black caps, silver machined face. 1800 miles on them , no scratches, no blemishes. Tires are Goodrich G-force 2 AS also with 1800 miles. $500 for the wheels, $1000 for the wheel/tire set. Just thought I'd check.

I've got a set of 20's, and with snows we get here, I was thinking of going to 18's.
PM me, if you're interested.

PS. I was thinking an even swap.
They have monitors, and also have around 1800 miles on them; no burn-outs. Got car 1 month ago.

Sorry, missed this.

Fronts: 245/40/20
Rears: 285/35/20

My tire shop really hook me up with the package deal getting me Toyo Tires. It's the first time I've run them and to be honest I don't think I will run them again. The performance is okay but I have felt slippage in tight corners and on top of that these tires have just about a year running on them and they're about ready to get switched out. Which is odd because they aren't actually a soft feeling tire. I live in San Bernardino which is close to Los Angeles so the used tire Market here is huge and you can pick up great deals. For years, on pretty much all of my Mustangs I had before I switched and got this Camaro, I ran BFGoodrich G-Force tires that I got from Discount Tire direct.com. They ship to your house for free and I would literally save about $120 a tire on the rears when I call in to order them. Those tires were a very hard compound and would last me almost 3 to 4 years but at the same time had a great tread design on them so they stuck in rain or shine.

Frankly I think the black 5 spoke are the best looking rim on the camaro whether it be GM or aftermarket. Good choice.
