2018 Mustang Performance Pack 2 "Tremor" Details Released

So, this is apparently the direct competitor for the SS 1LE. I was waiting for this car until I decided to go for the 1LE. Glad I did.

I still think the 1LE is the better looking, better overall package. The 2018 GT does have 460 HP, but I think the 1LE is lighter. Also, the 1LE has two piece rotor hats, rear Brembos, and a whole bunch of other stuff the Stang doesn't have.

"We’ve been talking about it for months on Mustang6G.com ever since it first showed up in the 2018 order guide, and now Ford has officially announced the long-anticipated 2018 Mustang GT Performance Pack Level 2 (PP2) which we previewed for you last week.
The overall package not only bridges the performance gap between the GT Performance Pack and the Shelby GT350, but also gives the vehicle a new lower, aggressive stance to go along with its fine looking aero parts and unique 19-inch wheels.
So what exactly is included in the PP2? Everything already included in the 2018 Mustang GT Performance Pack Level 1, namely*– unique chassis and antilock brake tuning, unique stability control and electric power-assisted steering, Brembo™ six-piston front brake calipers with larger rotors, a k-brace, larger radiator, silver-painted strut tower brace and a TORSEN® rear differential with 3.73 axle ratio — and adds:
Redesigned front splitter and rear spoiler, 19-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, custom tuned MagneRide dampers, retuned steering calibrated for quicker responsiveness, and stiffening of various suspension components to make for better handling around corners with less body roll."

I think it has coolers based on another article I read. Still not a 1LE. Swing and a miss.

No, in the owner's manual, Ford recommends adding aftermarket coolers if you want to track it.

1LE has more torque, torque wins races.

The LT1 engine makes 35 lbft more torque. Ill take the 35 lbft to your 5 hp.

This should be PP1, not PP2. It most definitely does not compete with the 1LE. Should compete nicely with an SS though.

And $3495-$3995.

Competes with a 1LE in styling. I like the look. Surprised there's no mention of trans cooler.

So the 2018 Mustang GT now starts at $35,995 which means it is just over two thousand dollars cheaper then the 1SS Camaro. Add the performance pack 1 to the 2018 Mustang GT and you are at $40,000, 2018 SS 1LE Camaro is $45,000 so this gives the Mustang another $5,000 to play with. I do think that the pp2 Mustang GT will under cut the 1LE Camaro in price, then it comes down to performance after that.

When I compare the prices I come to the following result:

2018 Mustang GT $35,995
301A (mandatory for PP2) $2,000
PP2 $6,500
= $44,495

Camaro 1SS $37,900
1LE Package $6,500
= $44,400

So the 1LE is the cheaper and faster car. You can also get 1LEs from the lot around $41k right now.

The SS 1LE package went up to $7,000, also I have yet to see the price on the pp2 for the Mustang GT.
