That shows me that the Camaro has been pretty flat from 09 til now. Is that the number GM is looking for with this car per month? I guess if it sticks around that will be the answer. I can't understand why the trend on mustang and challenger has been to continue to sell more and more, and the Camaro has basically been flat the entire time.
Interesting.

Here we go again.

I think we should just link to the old threads where people post the same complaints, then counter-arguments to those complaints. A wiki page might good listing all the discussion points that have already been brought up.

One argument is now dead: That the Turbo 4 and convertible would boost sales. Maybe a tiny bit, but this car is not catching up to the Mustang any time soon. 1LE and ZL1 aren't high volume cars, so cross those out too for the set of potential "pick-me-ups."

To those who will inevitably post "I like having the rarer car" or "I still like my car better" or "we win on performance" — this thread is about none of that. It's sales. Camaro ain't catching up. Sorry, them's the breaks. The 6th gen Mustang was just too much of a hit in terms of volume sold to ever catch up.

What are we in, the 5th or 6th month of sales?

What were the numbers for the 5th gen at this point?

I love it! The less 6th Gen's around the better!

Incentives do have a lot to do with it.. Ford is heavily discounting.

For me, Camaro engine and handling is to die for...the rest not so much. Not sure about why the numbers are down over the 5th. If they had not chopped the top even more I might be in. And to all the adjust the mirrors mantra, I like to see out the side/front and sky. They should have gone another way than just designing based on the 5th gen buyers input...flame away.

As an aside, I am GM. But getting long in tooth and want another American 2dr v-8 soon. If I had to buy today it would be the stang, maybe....?

April and May are historically big months for Camaro sales. Camaro sales peaked in 2011 with around 88,000 sold. They sold 7457 Camaros last month but with the exception last April (~6900 cars) this is the least amount of sales for an April since the Camaro was brought back to market. In April 2011, they sold 10,800 Camaros.

So, when the Camaro was brought back to market there was some pent up demand and the Transformers movies helped with the marketing
awareness, etc. Now we have a car that has evolved from the 5th gen, it is more refined, has more performance, technology and costs more. Time will tell but there are no incentives right now for existing owners to trade up and Chevy is trying to attract new buyers as well. You also have risk averse group that won't buy a first year model.

I just don't think GM should have taken this car so far upmarket. You can leave the Cadillac ATS/CTS for that crowd. Now we have a 40-50k Camaros but they still have the brand image of a Chevy Camaro. Most folks that can swing $40-50k cars will check out other brands that carry a status brand image. BMW, LExus, Mercedes, Caddilac, etc. I would have liked to see a 1SS at $35k and a 2SS at $39k and sell more volume. Many folks walk in the dealership and see a dealer loaded 2LT V6 for $41k and walk out. The lease offers and residual values are no good either at this time. So, lots of factors IMO.

I do agree with you Raptor. I mean, I paid $43k for my 1SS, but there's $5k in just my wheels and brembo's alone. I love my car, and it's really all that matters, but it's certainly not a "deal."

It seems if GM is pulling a Call of duty: infinite warfare with the price of this car.

RE-FRESH!! RE-FRESH!! RE-FRESH!!

My local dealer has a 1SS for $39k which to me is ridiculous but the Ford dealership has a 2016 GT at $42k. Their cheapest Stang is a v6 listed at 27k. I think the new Mustang looks buttass ugly but the facts show it's selling much better... your move GM.
