Do you have a pic and a part number for the storage bin? That sounds like an interesting idea!

How hard was it to swap out? Removing the console and all?

I like that much better than the charge pad I don’t use. Nice. And yeah like Heath said. How tough to swap out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Console was easy to remove, worst part is trying to squeeze it back into place because of a lip on the rear of the console that tucks under the seat. Have a towel handy so you don't scratch the leather seats. When putting the console back in, I put the towel between the console and the rear seat. Sitting in the back seat, I pushed/squeezed/tucked the console in past the back seat and then pulled the towel out (it's tight). Six bolts (10mm socket needed) secure it to the tunnel. If I remember correctly (3) wiring connectors and the 25mm torx for the manual 6spd shifter handle. Got the part on ebay. The below links are where I got my removal/install info, the first link has pics as to the the (6) bolts that I'm referring to. There are (4) under the console knee pads, (2) on each side, and (2) towards the rear covered by a round plastic cover.

Looking at GM parts online it might be "84004284". Just want to emphasize again about squeezing the rear console piece past the leather seats. It took quite a bit of effort to get that in there without scratching the rear seat. If you look up the part, you will see what I'm talking about, there is a lip that protrudes out from the console that has to tuck under the rear seat. It's rounded on top but square on the bottom. Getting it out was easy for me, but getting it back in took some effort. Also I removed my console to change out the shifter knob & boot, you might be able to remove the rear piece without having to completely remove the console but I'm not certain on that as I don't remember how accessible it was to get to the points of attachment. The rear piece is attached to the console by (2) phillips head screws and some metal push clips plus the wire connector to the phone charger. You would access these from underneath the phone charger/storage bin. After removing the (2) screws, I just popped it off and installed the new storage bin.

That looks really good. well done. A good option as I don’t use the useless phone charger at all.

I got the idea from someone else doing this on the site but I don't remember the thread. The other thing is I don't know if this will trigger some kind of diagnostics issue because it's disconnected. So far I haven't noticed any.
