Are recaros really that much better than the standard seats?
Just curious to those that have had both or used both? Would love to hear from you!
Happy thanksgiving! |

They offer more support than the standard seats, but the biggest thing for me is how much better they look. The standard seats always looked kind of cheap to me but the recaros just look amazing. They literally change the whole interior.

Hands down Recaros. Found them to be very comfortable even after a 12 hr drive. As Jayno20 stated, they really do look amazing.

I had both in zl1's. The standard seat is much more comfortable FOR ME. I'm 288 and power lift. I'm 51 also. I could see the Recaro's holding you better for road racing I guess, but for my frame they were very snug. They look very nice though. Just not for me.

Recaro's are definitely worth the $2000 option price. They are comfortable, look great, and actually offer excellent support for the corners!

Whether the Recaros are better or not is in the backside of the beholder. My wife and I tried the standard seats and the Recaros during several test drives and ultimately chose the Recaros. We have had no regrets even after long drives. However, everyone is different, get out test drive both.

I have had both and the first time I sat in them I said no way I like the standard seats better. Then I bought a Z/28 and I was sold on them. After I sold the 28 and went to buy a 15 ZL1 I would not even consider one without the recaro's in it. Like was said above it looks so much sharper with them inside a camaro but I really like them for comfort also.

6'1" and 225lbs and I fit well...the OEM Recaros provide a lot of support and do a great job of holding me in pace during road course driving (no harnesses yet).
