Don't know who Chevy is trying to go after with this, not me - at least this 54-year old. Doesn't make any sense. If you go through a car and need a new one all the time, sure - but I don't. Maybe they had to raise prices due to new US vs. 2010 - 2015 Canada production costs. Also transition costs in spinning up the US factory and shutting down the one in Oshawa - and changing supppliers - all that's gotta cost, and the money has to come from somewhere. Will let you guess where.

Chevy dealer near me recieved 4 new 16 camaros coupes, and the v8 does sound real good but in my opinion from the side and rear these cars dont look near as good as the 5th gen , one of the cars also had a sticker of 46k for a 8 speed auto, I didn't get a chance to sit in it or look at the interior since they where just pulling them off the truck and getting them ready for prep, they did have one 2016 car that made me drool though, it was a silver zo6 vert with what appeared to also be equipped with the z07 package

I thought I wanted a Gen 6 Vert, but the pricing will keep me away so I'll just keep my 11. Maybe I'll just buy an SS coupe and keep my vert for sunny days.
Btw, I bought mine used in 2012 with 12k miles for $26,500. Now at 86k, it's still my baby and well taken care of.

GM employee prices make it a bit more palatable. Convertible 2SS is 45K to start. Got a blue one loaded up nicely with MRC and dual mode exhaust, NAV and other goodies. Came out to around 49.5 with manual transmission, and with auto it was 50.9 (55.3 MSRP) with employee pricing.
Not terrible pricing, but Fbodfather did say going forward V8 cars were going to be MUCH more expensive as CAFE tightens up. Gotta pay to play.

Looked at the coupes the other day. Did nice things with interior not thrilled with some of the exterior. Will be sticking with my 2013 2SS/RS

I sat in one.. Much tighter interior then the gen5. Perfect size for the 120lb driver.. Maybe my incentive to loose 100lbs.. Or just stick with my gen5

I'll stick with my 2011 SS vert that I bought last October used. Well, used is subjective. It had only 3200 miles on it, and was a garage queen, all for $26,300. Best time to buy a vert is late Fall. AND, the dealer I bought it from just had to replace my Water Management Bag and 5th bow AT THEIR COST. Yahooooo. All is good now, and if not, I'll be going right back again. But all in all, quite the deal on this mint baby.

Camaro price increase
$605 across the board. Convertibles are essentially a $7000 option bringing the base price for a 2SS vert to $49,900 (gulp!). My '14 with all the goodies stickered at $47.7.

The sticker on mine when ordered in July of '12 was 51K. I assume it was July of '12... I wasn't there because I bought it used in July 2015.
Crazy considering it doesn't have a supercharged engine.
