I’ve searched all over the innerwebs and on the line and haven’t been able to find the answer to this question... what does the SS stand for?

And RS is Rally Sport?

A bit of trivia for everyone: the Camaro SSs exported to and sold in Germany actually have "Super Sport" badges spelled out in full, as it's illegal to sell, display, or manufacture any logo or lettering/verbage that may be considered to be related to the Nazi regime.

It stands for Secret Service. I also had a 69 Secret Service 396 Chevelle.

I don't believe they have "Super Sport" badges at all.
No SS or Super Sport badge on any of them.

Any Super Sport badge I have ever seen in the last 20 years has been aftermarket.

EU Spec Camaros.
