It was only used for about a week. I charge it about once a year to make sure it works. Excellent condition. Hopefully I can make some cash off it one day.

So the issue was solved. It appears the "iTunes" folder that is created automatically when you use iTunes to organize your collection was causing the head unit to crash.
So quick recap: Purchase 128 GB USB Flash Drive > Format Flash Drive to NTFS (for faster reading/write access) > Copy music collection to flash drive > First Indexing in the car takes roughly about fifteen minutes, and then you're good to go. Thanks all for commenting, appreciate it! |

So once you "index" everything, does it have to do it every time you turn the car on/off?
Tried adding more files to my zune last night, but Windows 10 doesn't support the Zune. So I'm stuck with the songs/movies that were on it; can't add any more. I'm going to transfer everything to a regular USB & see how it all works out. I've never watched a movie through the head unit, but it's time to try it. |

I manage my music with MediaMonkey. I had tried several other USB drives, some 2.0, some 3.0, all name brands. Surprisingly some would not even be recognized half the time when I started the car! very frustrating! Amazon has the Bar drives for a good price. The Samsung Bar works every time. never failed for me. My experience tells me the brand or firmware onboard the USB drive is still a factor. |

fyi:
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=446739 I have seen any USB work if: 32 GB or less, FAT32 formatted and play list files are used. You can format 64 and up GB USBs to Fat32 drives (CPL can do it) but the extra space is wasted. I have not seen NTFS reliably on my '16 SS but maybe it works now. I have not tried NTFS on my '18. I like the tiny USB ones the best as mentioned before, they do not stick out.

All my USB's work to some degree. It's more a question of reliability.
Sandisk Cruzer edge and Lexar 3.0 drive both either take forever to be recognized or fail to be recognized (a more rare event). Transfer exact drive contents to a Samsung bar and it works every time. |

I am using a SanDisk 128GB Ultra Fit USB 3.1 formatted fat32 with no issues.
