Talking VHT spray paint and some spare time...a project starts <<pics inside>>

Painted calipers always looked amazing on cars rolling and sitting still. I attempted this on my BMW, years ago, before I sold it Jan 2014. It didn't turn out well due to not prepping correctly and being impatient. Well, it was time to try this project again , but on the Camaro this time.

Also, I re-plastidipped the wheels and sprayed some vht clear coat to make it a little glossy.

Let the prepping begin...

Finish project...

I owe it to thkfast's DIY thread... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=344735

I used VHT spray on my brakes as well, they put out a pretty good product. Nice job

Great looking job you did a great job of covering & taping every think off. So what is your honest opinion between this time & your first time.

First time - I was impatient, didn't clean the caliper real well, it was my only car back then, the product I used(forgot the name).

This time-- Cleaned the caliper real well with brake cleaner, scuffed it up with some sandpaper, sprayed thin coats working to a nice thick coat, let it dry 24hrs, cleared coated it.

Looks awesome! I'm about to paint mine too on a project truck I'm building. You're right, its all in the prep and not rushing it. Your wheels look great too!

Good job Rod! You did the Chevrolet/Brembo stickers and everything! Do you have any more close up shots of the finished product?
