Another what to do stock LS3 thread

I'll be making my first ever dragstrip pass at C5. I'm 60 hrs old and have had plenty of fast cars and know how to drive ( but not necessarily how to get the best ET)....but, what seems to be the best combo you would suggest. Drive around the water box (stock tire with 15,000 on them), leave at about 4000 rpm with a soft feathered drive out dump with a tad of wheel spin? Traction contol and stuff on?

TCS off for sure, otherwise it will just about shut the engine off.

I'm not a stick guy, but I've raced my L99 a bunch. These cars get hot fast, so try to limit the amount of time the engine is on between passes. If you have it tuned and the fans come on sooner, I'd probably run more passes.

I've run my stock Pirellis down around 22-25 psi. I do a healthy burnout the first time. I like to back into the water, little water on the tires, pull forward a bit, burnout.

I've been practicing some and can leave from a dead stop with traction control on and get about 2 ft of wheel spin and hook up at about 5000rpm without the throttle body shutting down...no tune. What would you change?

Correction. Prob not hooking at 5000, but playing with it between 4000-4800 or so for the first 2-3 feet...hooking and nailing it

Well I think if you run with TCS on you will run slower. If you trying to run a strong time you won't want it on. But if you are running mostly to have fun and are nervous, I would leave it on.

My school of thought is to err on the side of a little wheel spin vs. bogging out of the hole. So I experiment. The RPM you leave at might have to go up or down depending on how the track is. I'm not an LS3 M6 guy but I have had some 4th gen M6 cars and I also had a 2002 Z06, the latter of which was very hard to hook on street tires. I thinking letting the clutch out fast but not slipping it to the point where you hurt is what works for a lot of folks on street tires with stock axles.

I had that 4k launch on the street down with this car too. Got to the track and it was all out the door. Good luck man, see ya there.
