I retired at 43. I just started my third job since retirement for something to do. I'm 59 now.
You got other plans for your stealth Camaro? |

204/211 @.05 .551/.525 117 The two I'm looking at now Comp 212/218 .558/.563 115 LSA Lingenfelter 218/229 .561/.561 lift 113 I know most will think them too small...but I want something I can throw a bag in the car and drive anywhere I want. No worries of replacing springs down the line. No worries of valvetrain damage. I also know many are wrapped around HP #'s and how choppy/noisy they are. Again, for me, its squeezing as much TQ as I can in the area I want it and drive it.

I’m not knowledgeable on cam specs but I get what you want. Nothing wrong with wanted a few extra ponies and a calm idle if it’s a daily. When CSP called me to spec my cam I said I wanted max hp and choppy lol he also said he has one that’s sounds almost stock (stealth) and still give great hp gains.
Maybe hit up complete street for one of there custom cams - if you follow them on insta/youtube they do a dozen camaros a week 4-6th gen mostly 5th and 6th.

I retired 17 months ago. It has been an adjustment, COVID has made it so I’ve been home a lot. I don’t miss working though, I like doing as much or as little as I feel like. As for for camming your Camaro, my motto is “Drive softly and carry a big stick”.

I applaud your cam decision. In old school yesteryear the two biggest mistakes were too big of a cam and excessive carb sizing. In my recently acquired Vette project the cam installed is part number 88958753 .525 lift, 219/228 duration unit in stalled by GM in their 480 (some say 495) HP crate engine. Plenty of personality and a great, broad power band. Don't think you can go wrong with either of the cams you mentioned and I like the idea of keeping the lift modest to prevent excessive valvetrain stress and future maintenance costs. After all, you're on a fixed income.

The two Your looking at now Comp: 212/218 .558/.563 115 LSA Lingenfelter: 218/229 .561/.561 113 LSA What I have Nightfury: 233/242 .629"/.629" 113 LSA Other top competitors BTR stage 4: 233/250 .630"/.615" 113 LSA TSP F35: 235/248 .649"/615" 111 LSA GPI SS4 NFC: 236/252 .646/.637 113 LSA IMHO I would say the nightfury is aggressive but not thrash the valve train aggressive. That comp cam is tiny, hands down. It doesn’t even compare to any off the shelf cams, i don’t know if it would be worth the swap... BTR stage 1: 221/228 .613"/.605" 112 LSA TSP stage 1: 225/236 .629"/615" 114 LSA I know your looking for useable torque throughout the whole power band, but you don’t need to stay that small to not hurt the valve train. TSP even states that their stage one is a great usable cam down low. I don’t want you to be disappointed when you take her out for the first time and think “this is no different than stock why did I even spend the money to do a cam swap?” No one likes doing things twice and I feel like you should go with the lingenfelter!
