Mine was, I had to enter my VIN when ordering, then it came with a sticker that had my VIN on it and claimed that the update would only work on this single car. Then again, my car is a 2018, yours is a 2016, I'm not entirely sure what was locked in the initial model year and what wasn't (for example, the TCM tune is unlocked on 2016 and locked on 2017+ cars).

Sorry to have burped into your sale thread, I just don't want anyone to get in trouble.

No, much appreciated. No sticker or anything on the package stating it was locked.

A quick one-minute check showed my VIN inside a file with a date different from the rest on the stick itself, set to roughly 2 days after my order.

Perhaps you could take one last look, just to be on the safe side:

What does this stick do?...? I have 2019 with navi

It's the 2020 GM map update for the 2016-2018 infotainment that comes on a USB stick. It auto-installs once the stick in inserted. I assume there is a similar update for 2019+, or maybe you can just buy the update online and install over the air.
