Coming to Florida

Driving from VA to Cape Coral tomorrow. Can’t wait for the warm weather.

Well I'm jealous! Especially now with this frigid Jersey March weather.

No protection on the front end in case the truck kicks up debris?

I think the rear wheels are far enough forward that anything they kick up will just hit the underside of the UHaul. We’ll see.

The drive started out bad. I picked up a nail in one of the trailer tires last night. So this morning it was nice and flat when I went to start the 700 mile drive. At least I noticed before I got on I-95. UHaul was pretty good about getting someone out to replace the tire, but it still delayed my start by 90 minutes. So now I’m in Jacksonville for the night and drive the rest tomorrow.

Yesterday I took her out for her first drive around the new area. Immediately got stuck behind a Cape Coral cop. No fun..
I’m so glad I can drive around with the top down instead of the car sitting in my garage for weeks at a time.

It's all good until love bug seasons and July-September blow torch temps. Otherwise, thank God I live in Florida!

I’m definitely looking for some fun places to drive. One thing I’ll miss about VA is the twisty mountain roads.

Some of the best driving I've found are mine roads around where Mosaic and associated phosphate operations are located. Cape Coral is a bit of a drive from the areas I know about. They're mostly empty on weekends and feature some pretty challenging turns and such. Not much in the way of altitude, but it's what we got!

On the bright side, there are lots of race venues that do track days and you can do it all year...

That's funny, me too. Let me drive Skyline Drive with it closed off just for me please!
