Thank you! First I wet the exhaust tips with water, let it sit for a minute and then wiped all the grease off with a paper towel. Then I sprayed some more water on the exhaust tips, let it sit for a minute, and then used a microfiber cloth with polish to start cleaning/polishing. Did about 30 semi-circles on each side of the exhaust tip, for a total of 60 semi-circles per exhaust tip. Then I used the dry side of the microfiber cloth to give it a finishing shine, rotating about 20 times (full circle) per exhaust tip. Whole process only took about 15 minutes.

Nice job, but I can save you a lot of time. Go down to the auto parts store and get a mothers power cone. Put it on your cordless drill and Buy any polish, mothers metal polish is fine, and you can do each pipe EXACTLY like you did it , with the same gloss, in one minute on each pipe.

Nice tip, thanks! Doing it by hand is so satisfying though

Give it a couple years .....you'll appreciate power equipment to polish. The hand can't move at 800 rpm or provide the uniformity of polishers.

Agree with Glen...nice cordless drill and power cone, I bought a Mequiars one from Walmart for under $20, came with a decent metal polish, 5 - 10 mins I can do all 4 of my tips, once every couple of months or so, then just wipe down with a MF towel and some rinesless detailer mix in between.

Bought the Power Cone after reading one of Glen's posts. Seems like a no brainer. Cant wait to try it out.

Here's a tip for your tips. Use Armor All wheel protector spray on them. It will dull the finish a bit to more of a matte look - but it really does keep the soot from sticking and staining. It's the only Armor All product I use.
