So Why No Factory Nav Solution GM?

A bit of a rant here with GM - why is there no factory Navigation solution for Gen 5 Camaro Owners with MyLink? Yes I know there are aftermarket options but that's not what this thread is about.

Maybe I'm confused. You can get factory nav as an option with MyLink. If you're asking about a car without nav converting to nav, you have to replace the whole unit. Look up 2SSRS@Gen5diy, he can help.

That's weird, the local GM dealership here says that there is no factory navigation available for my car.

Most of the time (all of the time), dealers know far less about their cars than the fans who want them/buy them. Most of us have educated our sales reps about the Camaro

They probably sold you one without nav and didn't have one to offer you or didn't think of it.

I have checked GM under "Audio Accessories" and the only thing they list is a Subwoofer for $1,195.43 (Can Dollars).

They don't sell an "add-on" NAV- you're supposed to buy it with it in there from the start. Otherwise, you have to swap the WHOLE thing. So if you are asking for an accessory NAV, the dealer is correct... they don't offer one. It can be done, just not with an official Chevy "kit."

Heck, I'll swap out the whole thing to get a proper factory looking Nav that works!

I agree this is strange. For whatever reason, if you have a OE Mylink w/o Nav, no Chevy dealer will upgrade you to one with Nav. You have two choices. Either trade your car in for one that has Nav or buy it extra market and find someone to install it. If anything is wrong with your unit or if it wasn't installed correctly, Chevy has nothing to do with it, and won't touch it. I got mine extra market and had a local electronics store install it. It works pretty good with the usual bugs that Mylink owners have complained about. I would have preferred to pay whatever and go through the local Chevy dealer but since that wasn't possible, I chose the alternative. I even tried completely different setup but was not satisfied with it and decided on the Mylink w/Nav.
