Need some help!!!

2016 2SS manual. Upgrades-Long tube headers, air intake.

Problem-Grinding when down shifting from 3rd to 2nd. Happends alot with rev. match on. Niticed one time with rev. match off and it was just a ruff feel.

Diagnosis-Synchro have warn and need replaced.

Has anyone experienced this fault and if so what was your resolution. Also looking for what should be upgraded while trans is out. (cost effective)

I gotta pull mine hard into 2nd sometimes or else when i let up the clutch it feels like it's in gear but isn't. Then, if I put the clutch back in and continue to pull down, it'll grind! I just pull hard into second every time just to be sure no grinding. Almost sure it's syncros.

I know in the old BMW circles Redline fluid was a favorite. I had an e30 many years ago(getrag 260 was a fantastic transmission for its time, I was looking at one for a project car a few years ago and they are still so smooth), and I think I got extra YEARS out of worn syncros just from using it.

The real question is how did they get so worn that fast? Figure that out first.

How many miles on it? Maybe clutch is too worn?

Ok Think we have figured this out. Synchro have worn out due to clutch. Synchro rings are the problem, clutch is the root cause. So according to the people I have consulted with, upgrade the clutch, replace ring set and all should be good. This is a typical problem with camaro's. I was also told I shift to fast and to slow down. Road course you dont need to super fast shift which wears on things. So if anyone has anymore information would love to hear it. Thanks for the replys. Time to drain the bank account and start wrenching lol.
