I don't understand tow hooks being rocked like a gold chain or spinning rim - Page 3

I always wondered what it was for because I kept seeing people install them for what seemed like no reason other than looks. I didn't know it was track related, though I'm 100% sure that nearly all the hype I've seen about installing them had nothing to do with the track. Good question, in my opinion.

Appearance is purely subjective. Everyone likes something different. Your car, your deal.

With that being said, I wouldn't put one on my car unless I was a track rat.

It is big in the Import world. Personally I would not do it but to each their own I guess. The nose ring comment was funny!

It stems from the Fast and Furrious ricer crowd.

That painted tow hook adds 20 hp. Just like 3 foot tall spoilers and coffee can fart exhausts.

And even then, I'd only put it on while I'm at the track. Soon as I'm done I'd take it off.

I put one on my 13 ZL1 because I liked the look and there was no good tow point provided from the factory. I shortened it so it stuck out as little as possible.

Since Chevy has provided a stealth point on the 16, I leave it in the trunk.

I like it and don’t think it looks ricer at all. I just think some of you are too old fashioned and don’t understand trends change. Kinda like those guys that can’t grt passed the fact 6th gen is now more sports car then muscle car. It’s like get over it, times change

If you got insulted by what i said, you need to get out more. I see people in these forums all the time go out of their way to insult every picture they see of a Camaro with a tow hook. It’s as if that tow hook slept with their wife. Times change and people have different taste.
