I have HEARD the RPM is the better belt for our purposes as the Green is VERY stiff because they are truck belts i.e. like big ass diesel trucks.

BUT the green belts can be had for like 30-35 bucks where as the RPM belts are ~2x as expensive(50-60).

As far as part numbers, on a fully stock LT4 the Gates numbers are K080852HD(green) or K080852RPM.

There is actually a TSB out for the Corvette Z06 that has the dealer install the green belt.

According to Gates' website the Camaro belt # is K080828RPM. The K080852RPM is listed for the Corvette.

Good call.

I was going off another thread for LT4 motors and didnt catch it was on Corvette Forum.

Whats the difference between Corvette and Camaro LT4 motors?

Accessory drive routing? Tensioner setup?

Edit: a K080828HD(green) belt doesnt seem to exist(google fails to yield any results), yet there are guys running the green belts on these cars... I am simply going by the difference on the Corvette belts being RPM or HD subfixes while the main number stays the same.

From what I can see the 'Vette belt is just over 2" longer.

Thanks guys, I have an aversion to those green ones.

yea thats obvious...

I was talking about the physical motor in the Z06 vs. the ZL1 which would make the vette require the longer belt.

More than likely because the Green HD belts are meant for diesel trucks or something like that and their RPM series or whatever the name is, is stickier and meant for supercharged applications. The Green belts are harder and not as sticky. But some have had durability issues with the RPM belts...

First I've heard of any broken belts. I don't think the rain diverter would cause it, as the car was designed to run without it, and I've had mine off for most of the car's life, with no issues.

Just aesthetics. It screams aftermarket, not stock.
