Ordered mine 3/14 got here 3/28. BMR was 7-10 days backordered is why it took a little longer. Not sure if that's still the case but emailing them gets a quick response.

BMR didn't show stock status on their site, and everyone else showed 4/9-10 for a ship date. Amazon gave me a delivery date of 4/15, so I pulled the trigger. I figured I wouldn't get a response from BMR until sometime Monday anyway.

it isn't hard...if you do it in a driveway, have 2 floor jacks handy and a jack stand or 2.

I have the lockout kit installed in my ZL-1, and it really takes the wag out of the rear end. Totally planted. No additional NVH. I also did the control arms. I'm completely happy.

NVH = Noise Vibration Harshness. I had no clue and looked it up...just in-case others don't know what that is.
Glad I read this post. Going to order one for my Z...especially since there's no NVH!! Thanks for post!

Another question for those that have done this mod... Living in San Antonio some of the streets here are poor at best. Does this lockout kit affect any of the dampening in the rear end? I'm concerned that the ass end will be even more stiff and will affect the ride quality (apologies up front if this is related to "harshness").
Thanks |

If anything it makes the shocks work less because there is less going on back there that the shocks have to react to. This mod has all benefits and ZERO cons. I think GM should put solid bushings back there on every Camaro model.

I’ve installed the BMR lock out kit as well. Totally agree with the others, takes the wag/movement out of the backend under hard acceleration and adds no regular driving stiffness at all. Really worth it, and an easy install.

Can’t understand why the rear cradle bushings are this soft to begin with. I noticed it right away. At least BMR provides a fix.

Hey guys,
The more I've been reading through this thread, the more interested I am in the product. Especially a simple "bolt on" mod that has true benefits. I was also starting to wonder if the ride quality would be affected. But for those who have installed it, it sounds like it's even better (another win!). With all the manufacturers of aftermarket parts, is BMR the only player for the Gen 6 Camaro lockout kits? Not trying to come down on BMR in any way as it's clear they have a solid product offering. Rather, just want to see how the competition holds up in price and performance. Thanks!! |
