Has anyone removed the "flowtie" or have pics of the back of it?

I asked this question a long time ago, but the cars were relatively new then. Has anyone removed the chrome "flowtie" badge? Or can someone take a pic of the back of it if it's off the car? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You trying to do some custom painting or mounting a new badge or what? Just asking because Photoshop can do some amazing things but if you're looking to see HOW it mounts then won't do you any good.

There would be holes on the deck lid if unbadged?

No, rear badge is mounted with adhesive. It's a relatively easy delete.

I believe that OP is referring to the grill mounted flow tie.

“O” my bad. Flow-Tie is awesome & is one of the most unique details on our cars.

Now that would look nice. Unfortunately you would need to remove the front bumper To get to the FlowTie.

Plasti Dip it. I did my entire CTSV ... anything that was chrome, I dipped it and it lasted from the time I did it until I got rid of it... almost 5 years and you don't need to remove anything from the car.

Just updating this old thread as I finally got around to looking at the back of one. It appears the flowtie is "plastic welded" on. There are several spots where the badge has areas that look like a puddle weld. I do not see a good way to remove the emblem without destroying it.

LMAO that's quality over quantity right there! I was considering the same thing but I guess its a no go now.
On a side note, I tried to order one from GMPARTSDIRECT and they sent me the wrong one...I guess I know why now. Sounds like you have to order the entire upper grille to get the "Flow-Tie"

Not enough people go back and update their posts. Thanks for sharing. That is certainly...interesting.

On the topic of badges, are the all of the other badges stuck on with adhesive with the exception of the front bumper ZL1 badge?
