Is there need for a tune with this mod? Believe it or not, I don't have a TB upgrade yet. I just don't feel like re-tuning.

If stock and adding throttle body the answer seems to be no, supposedly you can do an intake as well and still no. If you already have other mods and tuned.... well, you would have to put on a dyno and see if it changed your afr's... So maybe?

I have a Roto-Fab cai and a Katech ported TB and I did not need a tune for my setup. I plan to do a catback soon which is probably the only other mod that can be done without a tune. Anything else and yea you will need one.

How are you liking the CAI and TB combo?

How do you know you these mods don't require tuning? Did you compare afrs before and after the mods or are you going by the fact that you aren't throwing a check engine light.

Yea, I'm thinking it might be a maybe. I'm fairly modded already so. I just don't see this one mod changing the afr that much, but then again, who knows. Whatever, I'll call LMR and find out. They'll prob tell me yes so they can sell me another tune. haha

The change in AFR is somewhat car specific. There are those that have gotten a code and Tony has ported another TB a bit less aggressively and traded the TB out with them. Most have had no codes. The air flow at wot is only a very very small part of the addition. It is the throttle tip in. So Tony really doesn't claim any rwhp increase, just a loss of the tip in throttle hesitation.

With his money back guarantee it is pretty much a no brainer. And frankly I wouldn't sneeze at trying the Katech either. Now folks with TB and CAI together have a slightly higher incidence of a code. But you won't know until you try it on your car. Wild guess is the incidence of a code is in the <2-5% range.

Are both ported to the same diameter? What about under the butterfly?

Ok, so dyno is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 0900, throttle body is here..... UPS delayed Roto-Fab for a day... Sucks. So tomorrow I will get a baseline, and then I will try to get TB on and run again.

If possible I will schedule to get back on dyno later this week or next, but thanks UPS, that'll be another $125. Oh well, what can you do?

Already rescheduled once... It's ok, I guess if nothing else I will see what just the tb does alone. I will then add the intake and run it sometime later this week or next. From there I am thinking 15% lower and headers with cats and long system to factory muffler. Next would be e85 or method along with cam and maybe heads since I will already be in it.
