He could have been a bit more specific, giving details of what the offer amount was for, and by what date it has to be used, but this is not uncommon.

Anyone know how long do you have to apply a private offer to the sale? For an ordered car that won't be at the dealer for ~8 weeks would this expire?

I think I might just be overthinking it. I'm a return customer to this dealer, and my salesman is a straight forward kind of guy (its thanks to him that I actually have the job I have now that is making it possible to afford an SS) However, they already are valuing my trade in at about 2k above Kelly blue book for trade in value, so idk if that will change come signing day. Worst case scenario, I don't get the car I custom ordered from them and get one from another dealer with similar options... I really don't want that tho.

That's a good idea, but that would require me to stop driving my trade in to keep the value steady. I might try to see if they will take my trade in now, but that will make it difficult for my wife and I to get around.
