Here is the link, just scroll down some to the packages: https://ceramicpro.com/ceramic-coati...s-ceramic-pro/

Also reading about it, it does add a hardness and protect the paint.
Triple the price just to add more layers? I would run from this place. It takes like 20 minutes (maybe) to apply a layer of coating.

I mean, just think about it logically: some super glue (essentially) is going to be harder than the clear coat on your paint? No.

There's lots of magical thinking in the ceramic coating marketing.

It's 4+ layers of this: https://ceramic-pro.com/en/shop/prod...ne/product/9h/

I don't think it's just a normal ceramic coat. Just check around the website if you want and tell me what you think. I've seen people pay this much or more just to get part of their cars covered with ppf. So if this is an alternative for the whole car it may be worth looking into

It does have a lifetime warranty. And it looks like it works well on the videos. But I definitely want to explore this more before I drop that kinda money.z

Ceramic coatings are so overhyped and so much misinformation about them out there. Too much work for me being so OCD about everything, just not worth it, it doesn't really offer anything better than a good Silica sealant does, and these detailers are ripping people off at $1K, $2K+...that is crazy!

Come up my way, I will polish and put a Silica sealant on for way cheaper than what you will spend for a ceramic coating.

Do I get a lifetime warranty?

I'll just stick to a sealant, and then some wax over it.

I get it... But I love black cars. It's just my thing. I'm not super OCD I understand it's going to look dirty. It's a car ... It's a daily driver .. it's not a showroom floor model and doesn't have to be perfect. I just wanna take care of it well.

My black car has made me OCD with car care, but it's a never ending battle.

If you own a car with black base coat as a daily driver, keeping the paint near perfect is virtually impossible. That being said, there are many things you can do to minimize wash marring.

The wash/dry process is the most important. Touch your paint as gently as possible when washing/drying.

For the wash mitt, get yourself a Microfiber Madness Incredimitt. It's pricey for a wash mitt @ $25, but is very gentle on paint, and lasts for a long time. I had over 300 uses on my original one before it needed replacing.

Learn to perform a pooling rinse after you finish rinsing the soap off, and you'll have very little water left to dry.

For soap, I've tried so many of them I can't remember them all, Optimum Car Wash can be had on one of the 25% off/free shipping sales @ Autogeek, Autopia, or Detailed Image for $22.50/gallon, and has very good cleaning power, rinses clean very well, leaves no residue, has excellent lubricity, and is highly concentrated.

I wouldn't waste the money on the Megs Gold Class. Nothing special about it, and it smells horrible, like one of those pink things they put in the urinals in the mens room.

Lastly, get yourself a bottle of Ultima Waterless Wash Plus Concentrate. It's about $15 when on sale, and makes 5.5 gallons of waterless wash/detail spray, that you can use as a drying aid, clay lube, spot cleaner. One of the best values for detailing you can find.

Thanks for all that info. I did practice some new washing and drying techniques on another car, using the pooling/sheeting method as well, and I must say, after over 400 miles this week and no garage, it looks like I just washed it. Very pleased.

I have some chemical guys citrus wash and gloss, as well as Barrett Jackson wash and wax, and their liquid wax for when the car gets here. I'll definitely check out what you recommend tho.

Which drying towel do you folks suggest? I have seen different colors for drying only. Thanks.

I bet that lifetime warranty is only if you have them do all the details, or
regular washes by them, or you buy the products from them. At which point they will probably just be spraying a booster on monthly. I actually just found a local place that sells a 30 or 50 ml ceramic coating, that is established but the company is only known by long time detailers, they seem to have zero marketing toward avg consumers(Technician's Choice XPC). They(don't remember where I saw this) claim 1 year and the cost for the product? $25. They also make a spray/booster which is also $25, per GALLON. The handful of things written about it I have found say it lasts a few weeks to a month. So basically, most of the other ceramic sprays.

https://www.technicianschoice.net/pr...archParam=XPC3
I have not tried any of the products but what I have found about them say they are decent.

This looks interesting too. A ceramic polish that prepares for a ceramic and "lays some" down also?
