Whipple pulley broke

So driving to work today my supercharger pulley broke. I have less then 1000 miles on the unit. I bought it in July and had it installed in august less then a year ago. I’m super deflated does anyone have any advise on how to handle this ? Whipple isn’t open until Monday..

Its not the pulley that broke, its the input shaft. You are going to have to send the unit back to Whipple and have them repair it.

Yeah, good call (unfortunately for the OP). Ouch...

Yeah after I posted this and took a harder look I noticed that , it’s like it broke right where the bottom of the female threads for the pulley bolt broke I guess if there was a weak spot in the shaft that’s where it would be. It sucks I don’t even drive the car hard and have had only a few hundred miles on it. I can only hope that whipple finds that the rotors where misaligned from the factory causing it to eventually seize and this wasn’t just a freak thing. It’s going to be hard for me to trust the setup on any longish trips at this point even after it is repaired

The shaft was likely defective. Whipple should repair it under warranty and chances are you won't have any problems. Unfortunately Whipple nor any other supercharger company has the level of QC that a OEM has. I had a Centri kit back in the day from a popular company that makes your situation look like a walk in the park! Chances are(with any kit) You will more then likely encounter any issues that will arise in the first few hundred miles after installing it. Just the nature of the beast.

As King said, they all have their faults. I just went through an issue with getting the wrong CV Shaft for my car after confirming with the manufacturer that I was ordering the correct ones.

It's how they treat you when these issues come up that separate the good from the bad. Whipple will make it right and you'll be back on the road again.

Looking at the way it broke. It looked like it was fractured long before you installed the S/C. Happy to hear they took care of it.
