Replace RS spoiler with ZL1 spoiler

Hello, I have a 2017 RS and I want to install a ZL1 spoiler. The RS and ZL1 spoilers have different bolt patterns and installing installing ZL1 spoiler will leave some holes on the trunk lid from the original spoiler open. What's the best way to cover these holes? Would bumper plugs work?

Go to a boneyard and find a trunk lid without a spoiler. Has to be a few out there.

Either that, or find someone here with a non-RS 1LT/2LT or a 1SS/2SS who is willing to trade their trunk lid, depending on your paint color, you might get lucky and find one within reach. SS and ZL1 stanchion spoiler bolt patterns are the same. You could also have a body shop quote the fill and repaint job on yours for comparison.

Is there an aftermarket company that already makes a ZL1 style spoiler that has the bolt pattern for your trunk lid?

Nope,

Anderson Composites
C7 Carbon
Duraflex, etc

All use the 3 post stachion style mounting for the ZL1 1LE, ZL1 and non/1le SS spoilers they make aftermarket.

OPs best option is to find someone willing to trade, getting lucky at a junkyard with either the correct deck lid or a lid without holes.

Also getting a body shop to fill the holes correctly and a repaint could be done for a reasonable price.

With an RS you’ll have to either have the spoiler holes filled or replace the trunk lid. My suggestion would be forget the ZL1 spoiler and install either 1LE Blade Spoiler or High Wing Spoiler because the cost involved in filling the holes or replacing the trunk lid will not be worth it. Your one other option would be leave RS spoiler and install a ZLE replica. I know at least 1 person here had done that, remember seeing the pic of the car.
